Michigan's Forest Economy

The Michigan Forest Economy contains county-level information relating to Timberland Ownership, Timberland Type, Timber Harvests, Timber Growth and much more.

We have designed this site to be used by Michigan's local and state governments for planning, by schools and community groups for education and by citizens who are interested in the status of the forest resources in their county, region and state.

The data at this site are produced from a data base of forest statistics developed by the USDA Forest Service and maintained at Michigan State University's Department of Forestry and Cooperative Extension Service.

Matthew Thorburn, a Graduate Research Assistant at MSU, compiled the data and designed this site. Any questions or comments should be directed to him.
