Application Instructions

1. Application should be filled out clearly. Be sure to include all required information in the spaces provided and to adhere to specific space limitations where noted.

2. Application should be submitted along with an official copy of academic transcripts and a one-page essay. The essay should state why you are interested in this program, what specific topic you want to address, and how participation in this program will benefit your academic training and further your intended professional career. You may also describe your previous research work and its relevance to this program.

3. In addition, applicants are required to fill out and submit the Student Health/Emergency Treatment Authorization, Lifelong Education Application, and Dean of Students Reference Form, which can be downloaded from http://studyabroad.msu.edu/applications/nonmsuapp.pdf. Information contained in these forms will ensure an applicant of adequate consideration.

5. Every applicant should request reference letters from two individuals able to comment on his or her academic background, readiness to conduct scholarly research at an international site, and how participation in this program will benefit his or her academic and professional career.

6. The referees should send their letters directly to the address given above.

7. Application must be received by 5:00 pm, March 5.
